Ferring Pharmaceuticals, the partner Roche to make the treatment of infertility can be customized -

Ferring Pharmaceuticals and Roche announced a collaboration to combine Roche diagnostic testing technology with human cell line derived recombinant follicle hormone Ferring -stimulating (human rFSH), a gonadotropin currently in development phase III. This combination is designed to enable healthcare professionals to tailor treatment for infertility specific needs of women.

Under the terms of the worldwide agreement, Roche will work with its global Phase III program to qualify and validate Ferring, document and obtain regulatory approval for a diagnostic test companion for use in combination with rFSH Ferring human.

Currently under development with human rFSH Ferring, fully automated test Elecsys AMH Roche aims to evaluate the anti Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels, a measure of ovarian reserve and a woman also her ovarian response to fertility treatment with gonadotropin. With this information, physicians will be better able to deliver a customized dose of rFSH human Ferring based on AMH levels of women. Unlike manual AMH test can take several hours to produce results, the Elecsys fully automated test determines AMH hormone levels in 18 minutes, making it suitable for routine clinical use.

"the ability to tailor a specific dose of gonadotropin according to the personal AMH level of a woman represent a major step forward in the fertility management," said Pascal Danglas, MD, Vice President executive, clinical development and product at Ferring. "This collaboration demonstrates Ferring's commitment to research and development of innovative treatment options for infertility."

personalized dosage according to the AMH level of a woman, if successful, can improve the predictability of the infertility treatment and, therefore, reduce the potential burden of treatment for women who seek to conceive through assisted reproductive technology.

"as the leader in personalized health care, we extend this approach more and more areas of unmet medical need such as infertility and women's health. In collaboration with Ferring we are pleased to play a pioneering role in individualize fertility management while continuing to invest in medically differentiated tests, "said Jean-Claude Gottraux, head of Roche Professional Diagnostics.

This unique approach personalized medicine can provide a better option for couples looking to conceive through in vitro fertilization.
